Sister Mullins I enjoy reading your blogs, makes me feel like ur still here with me!! (yes I miss ya all)!! I also am sorry for what people did to you and Pastor Mullins, thank goodness, everyone will reap what they sowed!!! I read the marriage blog, and I see where I have failed, it breaks my heart that my spouse didnt want to work on the marriage, but unless he wanted to, there was nothing I could do!! But I will say this I am a better person now, stronger, wiser, and I refuse to travel that road again. And I look forward to the future and what it holds now for me, I do need prayer when it comes to trusting. But thats getting better too!!!Thank you and take care!!!

Reading this Val's Voice hits home because this is my 2nd time around and the first time had other influences but I never realized how apart we were and found myself alone. But God has blessed me so much with my 2nd husband, because he waited so long and I don't want to lose another gift (or give up) what God has given me. We both cherish each other so much that we are able to communicate and talk and even though I don't like to be touched alot because of past issues, I know he loves it so i have tried not to stop him and over the past 7 years I have begun to enjoy his touch and enjoy him more than ever. He may not enjoy talking about things like I do but he lets me when I need or want to. We have a special time set aside each week especially because he is a 3rd shifter and with our schedule we have to set it aside and it helps and there are times when we have to talk about things so that we can grow together and I sooo agree. If we think we have arrived to a great relationship, we won't grow together and go to all the places God has for us as a couple.

This is one of the most insightful post that you have ever written. I am thrilled that you came along side me in ministry and life. You are a great first lady and a wonderful wife, lover and friend. Any woman that will follow your lead will be a great blessing to their husband family and ministry.

Thank you baby doll.

First of all let me say how blessed I am to have you and Pastor as my leaders. My husband and I have learned so much.

One thing that I have learned and seen, is that you truly see where someone is with God by the way they do or don't submit to their leadership. First of all, we didn't choose God, He chose us and He chose our leaders for us. I know that if I am having trouble submitting to my beloved husband or my precious Pastor, the problem is with me. I need to change and find out where I am not giving my whole heart to God. And all the times this has happened, the Lord has always shown me where I was lacking but then He forgave me and always takes me to a new understanding. People who can't submit to leadership or need to prove a point, I feel sorry for, because the real question is where are they really at with God.

I hate the thought of people coming at my Pastor so much and all the things that Pastors go through because people believe they have arrived when it is apparent they haven't.

Also, I am so sorry you and our precious Pastor have been hurt so much. You are both blessings to me and my family and we love you.

Deskjet7 -

I totally agree with you, that as a minister or part of a ministry team, we need to choose to take the high road. But sometimes after repeatedly taking the high road and never getting a true and sincere apology, I just want to rip someone's head off! Not literally, but after 25 years of this type of unwarranted behavior, for once, I'd just like to set someone straight using a loud voice and much animation! In other words, I'd like to speak my mind---just once. You know ministers are human too and we can get our feelings hurt too.

Valerie,

Unfortunately, these kind of people have and will always be around. I heard a minister say that he chooses to look through a different lens to always try and find the good in people. Obviously some will make it more difficult than others. We cannot allow ourselves to become down or always suspicious of people and there motives. This will be a killer to any one of us as ministers. I can see that there is no respect for those in ministry, but the only ones that can change that is those who are ministers. We have to take the ministry to a new level of integrity and truth.

And while your on a roll, may I add......that I hate to hear people call a Pastor by his first name and not by his proper title. People need to learn to respect the office of Pastor. We just had a pastor that left under bad terms but I still called him Pastor (name) until his last day here.

I work with Youth alot and try to teach them to respect the office of the Pastor. But unfortunately, I think we're seeing a spill over of what the world is telling parents. Be a friend to your child. Nonsense, I'm their parent! And wether you agree or disagree with the Pastor, he or she is the person that God has placed over you.

Just my 2 cents!!!

Ministry has it's unique challenges that always provides opportunities for misunderstandings and misrepresentations. I am convinced that there has been a serious fall in the level of respect toward spiritual authority in the last generation. Some of that is a result of ministers falling and operating without integrity but much of it is because people have lost their reverence toward God.

I pray that God will re-establish the respect toward the leadership or the impact in this world will be far less. Folks need to realize that they do great harm to the vision of the church and could cost the loss of souls.

Be blessed sweetheart.
